3/16/2024 0 Comments Community pentaho data integrationWhether you’re a user or a developer on the Kettle codebase, please join our kettle-community slack workspace. So I hope to see our community and visibility grow in the coming years by putting Kettle as a name back on the map and also by looking for cooperation with other open source projects like Neo4j and Apache Beam but also with the people behind the over 1800 (!!!!) forks of the pentaho-kettle github project. We’ve had the re-branding as Pentaho Data Integration before the acquisition of Pentaho by Hitachi Vantara and from the looks of it we might be ready for another round of renaming, perhaps to Hitachi Vantara Lumada Data Integration? Whatever their choice will be, the issue is that right now it’s pretty much impossible to find the open source project using regular search queries and I don’t think that is good for the community, not good for Kettle users, not good for Hitachi and not good for anyone really. Kettle as a community project “brand” name has been a subject of concern for us for the last few years. The re-branding as KCM was not done for any negative reasons towards Pentaho or Hitachi Vantara but specifically because the overwhelming subject of the last number of PCM editions were about Kettle anyway. The name of the meetup previously was “Pentaho Community Meetup” (PCM). Please visit our wonderful landing page for more information: The wonderful location of the 2019 Kettle Community Meetup Great news! We’re hosting a Kettle Community Meetup (#KCM19) in Antwerp this year.
